Privacy Policy for Fault Tracker Pro

Last updated: July 12, 2026

This policy describes what data Fault Tracker Pro ("the App") collects, how it's used, and your choices — written to accurately reflect what the App actually does, not boilerplate.

Data We Collect

Location (optional, only if you enable Proximity Alerts). If you turn on proximity earthquake alerts, the App reads your device's location to query the public USGS earthquake API for events near you. Your location is sent only to USGS's public API as part of that query — we do not operate a server, and we do not store, log, or transmit your location anywhere else. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the App's other features work without it.

Watchlist (stored only on your device). If you star faults to add them to your watchlist, that list is saved locally on your device using standard app storage. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Push notification token. If you enable notifications (proximity alerts or watchlist activity alerts), your device registers for a push token through Apple's/Google's notification services (via Expo's notification infrastructure). This token is used only to deliver the alerts you've opted into.

Subscription/purchase data. In-app purchases (the Pro subscription) are processed by Apple/Google and by RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous purchase/entitlement identifier to verify your subscription status — see RevenueCat's privacy policy for how they handle this. We do not receive your payment details (card numbers, etc.) — those are handled entirely by Apple/Google.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Third-Party Services

Data Retention & Deletion

Since we don't operate a server or store your data outside your device, there's nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. Uninstalling the App removes your locally-stored watchlist. To stop location or notification data flows, revoke the relevant permission in your device settings.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
